Born to Italian immigrant parents in 1887, Tony Lama learned his first lessons in the boot industry at the early age of 11. An uncle apprenticed the boy to a shoemaker in Syracuse, New York where he learned the leather and boot trade.
Realizing the importance of a good boot fit from his stint in the US Cavalry after the turn of the century, Tony Lama set out to make the best fitting, most comfortable boot possible.
In the 1930s, Western wear stores began asking for his boots. To meet the growing demands, Tony Lama developed methods to produce greater quantities without sacrificing the key steps in hand crafting. In 1961, nearly 50 years after the first store opened, the company moved into larger quarters and began making 750 pairs of boots a day.
Tony Lama passed away in 1974, but his sons and daughters continued his tradition of quality and handcraftsmanship, making this a true American success story. The legacy created by the humble cobbler, a hard working entrepreneur with a fierce pride in his craft, lives on. The same commitment to quality is reflected in the corporation that bears Tony Lama's name today.

Zappos has got to be the best service online [or elsewhere!!] EVER!! Ordered this boot. Too small. Called them: no problem. They wouldn't wait [for me to ship back the pair] to ship me out another pair. They upped my shipping to 24 hours. I had the new ones the next day. 365 day return policy...WOW. Nike has a 30 day return policy. Sheesh. Pleasant, helpful and gracious on the phone lines. The only reason they didn't get a 5 in comfort is that I'm breaking them in. I dig this company. I'll buy here again. The boots are gorgeous. I did buy an extra size larger than normal. I love my boots!! Thank you!!

A'int Got It Yet . . .I previously ordered and recieved the ARIAT work boot and was absolutly satisified with the product. The fit is perfect, I'm a 7 1/2 D and the boot felt like a glove. Because of the great service and shipping offers I ordered the Tony Lama, which I'm already familiar with and a long time wearer. These people are great and I would be happy to be a part of their marketing team. They really know how to keep the customer happy. That is something this country has needed for a long time. The customer IS alwas right . . . but you don't even have to ask. They are way ahead of you when you call. They want to keep you as a customer, and without losing a customer, they gain a long time friend just by adding a little extra added service. I would expect that every direct customer retailer would have a lot to gain by their example.

Stunning eye catcher - These boots catch everyones eye. Although they aren't quite the quality of the "old" Tony Lama they are certainly fine for fancy boots. I wouldn't want to work in them but they are great for showing off.

Tony Lama Pee-Wee -This is a great little boot - nice addition to my collection! I'm glad I didn't buy a half size up - this boot is true to size. (I usually buy 8-1/2 to 9 in shoes and I bought the 8-1/2 in this boot.) I had room to put a Dr. Scholl's memory foam pad in, and it is very comfy! The color is really great - looking great with blue jeans! Shorty boots are hard to find, especially at this great value and unique color! You will love this boot!
